Why giving ceramics works (well-being, creativity, and zero barriers)
There are gifts that stay in a drawer and gifts that you experience. A ceramic workshop is the second type: experience, object, and memory. If someone gives it to you, it’s not just “attending a class”; you spend 100 minutes in mindful disconnection and, days later, pick up a piece you’ll use every day. After a few minutes, that “I’m okay here” feeling usually appears: mental noise decreases and gentle focus increases.
This little reset is gold if you have a tight schedule or a lot of stress. Zero barriers: you don’t need to “know how to draw” or come with the perfect idea. Here, making mistakes is part of the process; in fact, an unexpected event can become your favorite detail. If you’re more introverted, the screen-free environment and relaxed pace suit you perfectly; if you come in a group, you’ll share without intruding on anyone’s creative process. It’s a gift that works for couples, families, friends, and teams (yes, also for team building).
In 1 h 40 min you have time to enter flow: choose a piece, sketch, and paint calmly. Many people take away a mental routine for daily life: breathing, tracing, observing, and accepting. Unlike other experiences, here you take something tangible; when you return to pick up the piece (usually in ~3 days) and use it at home, self-esteem gets another boost.
100 min to enter flow (and leave with high self-esteem)
The time is designed for you to reach it:
- You choose shape and size (mug, bowl, plate…).
- You make a simple sketch.
- You paint in thin layers for solid colors.
- Finishing touches with details and without rush.
The typical progression: first 10–15 min of exploration; from 20 to 60, the good silence; at the end, the careful finishing touches. The phrase I hear most is: “I didn’t think it would turn out like this.” And the moment you pick up what you’ve made is an extra boost: seeing your idea turned into a useful object is addictive.
Suitable for beginners, introverts, and groups
- If you’re starting from scratch: we guide you with visual aids (outlines with ceramic pencils + fills with Stroke & Coat®).
- If you already paint: play with layering and controlled gradients.
- If you’re introverted: friendly space, without social pressure or screens.
- If you come as a group/company: we set micro-goals by areas (rim, body, base) so that everyone finishes on time.
The idea is to guide you without intruding: you’ll have cues to find your own pace. My promise is simple: in 100 min you enter flow and take away something you’ll actually use.

What will you do in the workshop? (ceramic painting only)
Ceramic painting: choose a bisque piece (mug, bowl, plate…) and personalize it with Mayco Stroke & Coat® and ceramic pencils. It’s the most rewarding entry point: intense colors, zero technical frustration, and consistent results.
Optional themed plans: “ceramics & wine”, creative dates, celebrations, and team activities; paced carefully so no one falls behind.
Ceramic painting (solid colors without frustration)
We use Stroke & Coat® because it allows layering without lifting the previous layer and achieving solid colors with 2–3 thin coats. For outlines and letters, ceramic pencils that later remain sealed under transparent glaze. If you make a mistake:
- When fresh → slightly damp sponge and correct gently.
- When dry → fine sandpaper 400–600, remove the dust and repaint in thin layers.
This protocol reduces anxiety and sustains flow. Here, making mistakes adds value.
Safe materials and pieces for everyday use
After glazing and firing at 1,100 °C, your pieces are vitrified and food-safe. Following our guidelines, they withstand the dishwasher and are microwave-safe (avoid metallic applications). In food-contact areas, fine strokes remain under transparent glaze, achieving a smooth surface comfortable for drinking.
Comfort tip: don’t overload the rim of the mug with fine details; you’ll gain a pleasant feel in the mouth. This way your piece will be beautiful and truly functional.
Frequently asked questions before gifting

When do I pick up the piece?
We notify you by email when it’s ready and, in ~3 days, you pick it up. It’s the second magical moment: see your idea turned into an object.
Prices and what’s included
Depending on size/shape/detail, pieces are available from €15. Includes space, materials, guidance, firing, and a drink. If you want a more ambitious project, we suggest layers or a second visit.
Can I bring my own design or a reference?
Yes. We help you simplify it by areas (rim, body, base) so you finish on time and it comes out clean after firing.
